Some herps I shot at the zoo.

This is Cranwell’s Horned Frog, also known as the Pacman Frog due to its gigantic mouth.  Native to South America (I snapped this one at the zoo) it has rows of rear facing bony projections along its upper jaw which give it a death grip on prey.  Growing up to 8 inches in length, adults can eat a fully grown rat.
It reminds me of something from a Hayao Miyazaki film.

Hank hangs out on some plexiglass I have leaning up against the wall. 
I don’t refer to him as a pet because I do absolutely nothing for him, but he has been hanging around quite a lot lately.

Five of the nine places I’ve lived since moving to Hawaii in 2009 have hosted canines of some sort or another.
This was Chico from the house I lived in in Kalaoa, Kona side, before moving out here in February.
